Are you about to have a baby and want to feel prepared for this huge life transition? Or maybe you’re already in the “fourth trimester,” and feeling lost - not sure what to do or how to adjust. The birth of a baby is also the birth of a parent - the biggest changes that will ever happen in an adult’s brain are during the initial period after a baby is born. And yet, we don’t often give parents helpful tools for navigating this transition, beyond “sleep when the baby sleeps” (what if the baby is sleeping on you??). If you’re feeling unprepared, lost, unsure how to meet your needs while caring for your child, or overwhelmed, this course is for you.
-
1. Learn about the major changes that occur in the brain and body postpartum, and how to recognize signs that you might need more support.
2. Develop strategies to manage stress, balance your and baby's needs, and ask for support.
3. Learn self-compassion based strategies to reduce self-criticism, clarify your values, and develop your identity as a parent.
